People on StyleMD are looking for a personal connection with a stylist that fits them. We designed our app so it would be easy for people to do just that - find the perfect stylist for their own unique goals and budget. This means they want to see what your idea of style means so they can see if it matches up with their own.

Remember the old adage: "If you're talking to everybody, you're talking to nobody."

To get the most bang for your buck, it's important for you to tailor your profile to your ideal client. When picking your specialties, keep in mind what you're awesome at. Also, think about WHO you want to work with.

How to pick great photos:

1. Pick photos that match your strengths
The rooms that rent most often on Airbnb are those with great pictures. There’s no difference with StyleMD. Our customers spend a lot of time looking at portfolio images to see what you have to offer.

Take pictures of outfits you have personally styled. Create outfit layouts using any of the popular platforms out there. Your outfits should represent the styles and categories you've chosen. If you're styling for men, make sure you have outfits for men in your portfolio.

2. Keep it uniform
It’s important your profile looks consistent and visually appealing. Create images that have a similar style. Think of this as your branding strategy. How do you want to represent yourself and your work as a professional stylist? We don’t recommend mirror selfies. These images tend to disrupt a professional-looking profile.

3. Tag your photos for what your target clients are looking for
We're constantly working on improving our search and discovery features  so you can better reach our customer base.

You should be thinking about what your ideal clients are searching for. If you're an expert at styling plus-size or petites, tag your photos accordingly. Now it's time to take your portfolio to the next level. Open up StyleMD to get started.
